Getting started

How do I install ShopSignal?

Click "Install on Shopify" from our website. You'll be redirected to Shopify to authorize the app. The entire process takes under 10 minutes, and no coding is required.

Does ShopSignal work with my Shopify theme?

Yes. ShopSignal works with all Shopify themes, including custom themes. Our review widget is designed to adapt to your store's styling.

Can I import reviews from another app?

Yes. We can import reviews from most review platforms during setup. Contact us after installing and we'll help migrate your existing reviews.

How long until I see my first insights?

As soon as you have reviews, ShopSignal starts analyzing them. Most merchants see meaningful insights within the first week of collecting reviews.

Pricing & billing

How does the free trial work?

You get 14 days free with full access to all features. No credit card required to start. At the end of the trial, you can choose a plan or your account will pause.

What counts as a "review"?

A review is counted when a customer submits feedback through ShopSignal. Review requests that aren't answered don't count against your limit.

What happens if I exceed my review limit?

We'll notify you when you're approaching your limit. You can upgrade anytime, or review collection will pause until your next billing cycle. We never charge overage fees.

Can I change plans?

Yes, upgrade or downgrade anytime. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect on your next billing cycle.

Is there a contract?

No contracts. All plans are month-to-month. Cancel anytime and you won't be charged again.

Do you offer refunds?

If you're not satisfied within the first 30 days of a paid plan, contact us for a full refund. No questions asked.

Features & functionality

How does the sentiment analysis work?

We analyze the text of each review to determine if the overall tone is positive, neutral, or negative. This happens automatically when a review is submitted.

What topics does ShopSignal tag?

We detect common topics like product quality, shipping, sizing, packaging, customer service, value, and more. Tags are based on what customers actually mention in their reviews.

How do the insights work?

ShopSignal looks for patterns across your reviews. When we detect a trend — like multiple customers mentioning the same issue — we create a plain-English recommendation in your insight feed.

Can I moderate reviews before they're published?

Yes. You can set reviews to require approval before they appear on your store. You can also hide or delete reviews from your dashboard.

Does the review widget slow down my store?

No. Our widget is under 15KB and loads asynchronously, meaning it doesn't block your page from loading. Performance is a priority for us.

Do reviews help with SEO?

Yes. ShopSignal adds proper schema markup so search engines can display star ratings in search results (rich snippets). This can improve click-through rates.

Data & security

What data does ShopSignal access?

We access order information (to send review requests and verify purchases), customer emails (for review requests), and product information (to associate reviews with products). We never access payment information.

Is my data secure?

Yes. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We follow security best practices and never share your data with third parties.

Can I export my reviews?

Yes. You can export all your reviews as a CSV file at any time from your dashboard. Your data belongs to you.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

Your data is retained for 30 days after cancellation in case you want to reactivate. After that, it's permanently deleted. You can request immediate deletion if preferred.

Do you offer onboarding help?

Yes. If you need help setting up or importing reviews, just ask. We're happy to walk you through everything or do it for you.

Can I request new features?

Absolutely. We love hearing from merchants. Send us your ideas and we'll consider them for our roadmap. Many of our features came directly from user feedback.
